….into West Nile

I am entering one of the most exciting parts of the campaign trail so far. Karamoja tops the ‘excite list’. And that’s a maiden trip to West Nile.

This is one region that has eluded me for years now. Every time i got closure to an opportunity, it just disappeared in thin air. But,not this time around. I’ve managed to make it to West Nile.

On finishing Lango region, the team (Kizza Besigye campaign team) traveled to Adjumani from where the West Nile leg of the campaign begun. The welcome in this area was really lukewarm. Whether it had anything to do with mobilisation, it just didn’t pinch me whatsoever.

To me though, the mere fact that i am in West Nile is consolation enough. You need rowdy, noisy and overly excited crowds to get great pictures. And it could not have come any better when i crossed River Nile into Moyo.

It was my third crossing of the Nile on different locations. Owen falls dam, Karuma falls and now Adjumani.
River Nile seperates Adjumani and Moyo districts. Its about 5-10 minutes of a straight ferry ride across this stunning river. And those turned out to be one of my most rewarding minutes of the Kizza Besigye campaign trail so far.

Mid-way the river,i got an exceptional frame of fishermen throwing their nets.I can’t talk much about this shot. You look at it and make your conclusions

Current location: Moyo
