Nansumba Scovia, 15, is admitted at Mulago Hospital while waiting for an open heart surgery  by Sir.Yacoub Magdi in Kampala, Uganda’s capital. Sir. Yacoub is in Uganda to operate on patients suffering from Endomycardial Fibrosis, a life-threatening condition that causes scarring of cardiac tissue and leaking in the heart’s valves.  At over 2500 heart open heart surgeries, Magdi Yacoub is reputed to have performed more heart transplants than anyone else in the world. On average, 1000 children are born with heart complications every year in Uganda with urgent need for surgeries.
