UGANDA’s FIRST: Rebecca Kadaga, Speaker of the Uganda parliament gestures during an interview at Parliament on May 18, 2012. She is the first female to be elected Speaker in the history of Parliament in Uganda. Previously, Rebecca had served as the deputy speaker for 10 years. She’s, a lawyer by profession with a Masters in Women’s Law from University of Zimbabwe.
